Missing You......

It's been two years today and I still have the urge to pick up the phone and hear your voice. I really really miss you. Thanks for all the hugs, kisses, lessons, spankings and love. I feel like one of the luckiest kids in the whole wild world for knowing you. Hope Heaven is everything you've ever dreamed of.

The Latest

I'm at a loss. I don't know whether to cry or be proud or both. Cameron has been talking to a Marine recruiter and told me last night that there is a very good chance he will be signing on with them.

Trials and the Tribe

Well, here we go again. I'm kinda unlucky in love. As of last Thursday I'm officially single again. Believe you me, I'm no Liz Taylor. I have had a terrible time marrying a man that can stay with one woman. So I found my big girl pants and put them on. What else is a gal to do? My brother once said I could fall through a pile of poop and come out smelling like a rose so that's my goal here.
But...........a month ago I met someone very awesome, kind, gentle and beautiful. We have a lot of fun hanging out together and after a year and a half of being alone it's nice to have someone that wants to do stuff. Hiked into Morrell Falls last Saturday, in the rain, and had such a good time. It was just what the doctor ordered and I didn't even mind the rain one bit.
Gracie is getting ready to turn 7. It's amazing that she's that old. Didn't I just have her yesterday? She will be spending her birthday and Thanksgiving with her dad so the boys and I have a spectacular surprise weekend waiting for her when she gets back.
Shane is a skateboarding fool. The other night he went out in the dark with his friend and rumor has it they were 'feeling the wind.' That means they were cruising around in their boxers. Guys, it's November in Montana!
Cameron is shopping for a new exhaust system for the Monte. He's going to have that car so beautiful some day that he may not want to drive it for fear of a scratch or ding. I love to sit with him and listen to all his plans.
My Christmas shopping for the kids is done. I'm so excited to get that out of the way. Now all I need to finish up is the stocking stuffers and getting gift cards to send out for everyone else. Just seems crazy to send presents in the mail these days.
Well that's it for now. Later Gators!

If My Body Were a Car.......

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ... But that's not the worst of it. My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close. My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins. It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here's the worst of it -- Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter ..either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

Catching Up

Hey, forgive me for not keeping up with this. Ugh! It's been a wild and crazy couple weeks full of all kinds of exciting junk and yuck. We've pulled out of the quick sand though and are headed back up to the rainbow.

Halloween is just around the corner and I've been putting a costume together for my daughter. It took her a while to figure out what she wanted to be. Changed her mind every stinking day. We've finalized the plan with a vampire and she's now set for Friday, teeth, cape and all.

Cameron has his Monte up and running again. He took me out on a date last weekend. I felt very special. We did dinner and a movie and cruised a little in the hot rod to some thumping Buckcherry. A good time was had by all.

Shane is still long haired. One of these days it's going to get so long I won't have to buy him clothes anymore. He has such beautiful eyes, I wish I could see them again. He's writing a letter to Santa asking for a new skateboard for Christmas. I don't know if he can see what he's writing though so good luck with the interpretation Santa.

I have gone out on a couple dates with a very very nice guy. I'm keeping fingers crossed that this one will work out because he's my kind of guy. After the brutal shove off the pedestal, it's time I was treated good again. He's a gentle giant with a heart of gold.

Whoop whoop to my brother for finally getting his new engine! Bout stinkin time! I'm sure he's saying the same thing. It's been a long time coming.

Hasta la Taco!

Cook Out

So I'm talking with my MRFD guy last night, online. I asked him what he'd done that day since he's usually 24 on and 48 off and yesterday was one of those off days. He said, "Made me some new camping tools today, wanna see?" Before I could even answer this picture pops up on my screen and I about fell out of my seat laughing sooooo hard. My boys grabbed the computer and it landed on middle son's myspace before I could stop him. Boys and men and their frontal lobotomies...but ya gotta love em. So my advice for you today, don't burn your weinie!

The Latest and Greatest

Y'all should get one of these! In times of economic dismay and keeping the planet green, this is definitely a must. No batteries and very recyclable.....plus when this redneck smoke detector goes off, the family is able to grab a little something to eat before running for their lives. ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!

Another Day

Well I told ya I'd write after last weekend and that's just what I'm doing. We went to the parade, Grace made a haul on candy (I think we're set until Halloween) and Shane didn't trip over his hair. A good time was had by all...and the Griz kicked arse! Yay TEAM!

Didn't go out last Saturday night. My neighbor, Nicole, took some pain meds for her back and a corporate decision was made that alchohol should probably not be consumed on top of them. It may have been fun to see her new tricks but because I like her, I behaved once again.

Still plugging along at work. Took yesterday off because I wasn't feeling all that great and ended up watching the movie Fly Boys with my favorite fireman. It was fun. Don't understand what's going on with that boy but he's fun to hang with.

The temp has not received the Taco Bell application yet, only because I haven't had time to pick one up for her. I will not give her a Wendy's app because I want my son to love me forever. The newest joke is that she looks good hanging from the outside of the third floor of our building. The yellow duct tape is a nice touch because it's such a happy color. One more week of this. Yes, I need rehab!

My apologies

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Getting my butt kicked daily at work and home and loving every minute of it. Yes, I'm that kind of girl!
Homecoming game this weekend. Go Griz! Middle son is playing his trumpet in the parade tomorrow morning. "Smoke on the Water" I hope he doesn't fall down because of all the freakin hair in his eyes.
Girls night out tomorrow night as well. I'll let you know how that goes, if I can, when it's over.

The temp is still sucking oxygen...lucky girl.

Shit Birds!!

Oh I hate Mondays with a passion. There's not enough caffiene in the world to make it right! But I'm here, sucking oxygen, gettin er done....just don't look at me wrong or your fate could have a quick ending.

THE TEMP HAS TO GO!

Puzzling.....

Well, I can't figure guys out. A different breed I tell ya. I just can't read them. Here I thought I was getting my heart broken but I guess not. I need a freakin interpretor! or a rule book! or x ray vision!
Anyway, I am not putting away the spoon and the bandaids will remain in their box and Dougie, knees will remain intact. Happiness restored.
Peace out.

It Hurts a Little

I'm nursing a broken heart today. It's ok cuz I'm a big girl and know how this goes but still....yuck. So my little spoon has officially been put away and I'm getting out the bandaids. Men are really hard to figure out.

Back in the Swing

Well I'm officially back into the swing of things. Talk about getting baptized by fire though. I came home to a pile of work like you wouldn't believe. You know how you see stacks of papers on the desks in cartoons, well this was like that but for real. I'm the only person at my place of employment that knows this particular job so it waited for me and continued to grow during my absence. Then when I got back, my receptionist was let go and that made life even more dandy. I'm now working with a temp, and I have no patience for temps. When I left work Friday, my comment was "I have to leave now before I kill you." Makes me wonder if she'll have the nerve to talk to me Tuesday.

A three day weekend is just what the doctor ordered. I went out with my neighbor last night and was re-united with my old friend Ouzo. Yes, I love that Grecian aphrodisiac....and it loves me too. You should have seen my moves out on the dance floor. I'm sure it was a sight to behold and would have made Travolta completely proud.....good grief. The nice thing is, I don't get hangovers with Ouzo so today has been a rather productive day. Anyway, summer went out with a bang.

One more day of R&R before hitting it again. I wish a special someone had some time to play this weekend but because of a busy schedule, my little spoon will just have to stay in the drawer until a better hour. Happy Labor Day all. Hope you get some much needed rest.

Uuuuuuuugggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!

I can't sleep and I have to go to work in 8 hours! I'm still in vacation mode and can't seem to kick it. This is going to be a rough Monday guys. Might want to check in via email every now and again to make sure I'm not slobbering on my keyboard.

Another big thanks to my brother and his family for making our week so fabulous. I owe you one man. P.S. The Bento Rocks!! I owe you for that too...what a loser I am!! Totally spaced that one.

Ok, I'm gonna try again. Somebody rock me to sleep with a real rock or sumpin!!

Oregon Fun

Queen Mamajama and crew

We are having so much fun on the Oregon coast. I can't tell you how needed this trip was. The kids are having a blast exploring the beaches and finding agates, starfish, crabs and other neat treasures. Thanks to my bro and his wife for making this such a memorable time............

Almost There

So we're getting ready to hit the happy trail tomorrow night to go see the fam in OR. It's been so long since we've been there and I can't wait. My brother has requested huckleberries and I'm hoping he'll trade me some of those fine Oregon blackberries for the tasty morsels I'm bringing him. Gonna hit the Farmer's Market Saturday morning and get some fresh ones.

This is a much needed time for R&R and a chance to see those that I love. I'm looking forward to salt water taffy, agate searches, a local brewery maybe, good grub (Doug and I can be wicked in the kitchen) and just some good ole fun.

Happy Friday!!!!

Hot Rod Harry

Well the kid (Cameron) got his first speeding ticket the other night. Can't seem to keep his foot out of it since putting the new engine in his Monte especially since the pipes sound sweet when it's romped on pretty good. The problem is, Missoula is currently being visited by Hell's Angels. Everywhere you turn you see the black of leather and hear the rumble of Harleys. Of course the police are on full patrol and pulling over everything that doesn't follow the rules to a "T." He got to take a field sobriety test, just in case, and was ticketed for 10 miles over the speed limit. Good thing he pays his own insurance cuz it's gonna suck now. Oh the lessons of life can be difficult yet sometimes they just have to be that way for us to learn a single blasted thing.

He better behave on the drive down to Oregon or I'll throw him in the gorge.

Patiently Waiting

I got the car rental buttoned down the other day for the trip to OR next month. I'm excited to see what they will have us drive. Of course I wanted a Charger and Cameron wanted a Monte Carlo but Enterprise couldn't make a guarantee of what they would have at the time so it's a crap shoot.

Waiting for vacation feels like forever and then as we all know, once it's here, it will fly. Can't wait, though. It's much needed. Sometimes I look back at the past year and wonder how we did it but then everyone knows the answer to that if you know me and the kind of person I am.

Back to work tomorrow...damn! I only got to sleep in once this weekend. That should be a punishable crime!

Plugging into July

I made it past my birthday. Now I'm on the home stretch for the 40 year old club. Wonder if it's like boy and girl scouts, will I get a badge? My birthday was fun. A bunch of my friends and I got together at Bonner Park that night because the Missoula City Band was playing...it was cool stuff like music from Pirates of the Carribean. My friends forgot to bring my birthday cake so I didn't have any candles to blow out but right about at the same time, Mt Sentinel caught on fire so they told me I could go try to blow the mountain out. It was pretty spectacular until Gracie looked up and saw the fire, panicked and puked. Dairy Queen everywhere. It's all good now.

About 300 acres burned. We now have a black mountain to look at on the drive to work. I giggle every time I look at it thinking what great friends I have to light a mountain for me on my birthday.

We Survived

Well we made it through the 4th of July without any medical emergencies. Everyone was well behaved, except my neighbor. He showed up on my doorstep Thursday night with artillery shells and rum. I shoooed him away and carried on. We ate BBQ and watched the fireworks Friday night then went out for a little tailfeather shaking afterwards. All in all I'd call the day a successful one.
Saturday was a day of reflecting and napping. It felt good to relax. Sunday was girl day for me and Grace. We hung out doing foo fooey things that boys don't like to do. I love having a girl to play with. She's still at the age where she thinks I'm cool, unlike the boys. They think I'm cool when I share my finances with them........doesn't seem fair.
I rode my bike to work this morning and it sucked because I haven't for a couple days now. Gotta get back into the groove of peddling my ass around town again.

Friday, July 4, 2008

Happy Independence Day

So let's not forget why we are celebrating this day. It's not about the bbq and fireworks. Our men and women throughout the years have fought their asses off to keep us free and that's the way I'd like it to stay. Keep that little tidbit in the back of your mind as you're sucking the last of the sauce off the chicken leg today. Much love to all of you.......please come back with all 10 fingers.

Hanging Out

I took the kids on one last hoorah before everyone parted ways for the week. We went to a waterpark down the street called Splash Montana and acted like a bunch of durned fools. I forgot to sunscreen the top of me, shoulders, neck and head. I've been smelling bacon all day and that must be why.
Tonight it's just me and my small twin. We'll see if we can raise some havoc in the neighborhood. There's a pond full of ducks and geese across from the house and the boys left their airsoft guns......hmmmmm.......

Summer Fun

Well, school's out and the sun's shining. It's all good. One kid is in day camp, another is going to an overnight camp next week and the other is working his tail off to get his car back in "go" mode. We've been enjoying the sunshine by spending time at the water park, hiking and biking. With gas prices right up there with gold prices, I've been riding my bike to work every day to save a buck and lose a thigh. So far, so good.
Still planning our Oregon vacation. The oldest wants to get something really cool to drive down there. Of course his first choice would be a Monte Carlo and I was looking at Dodge Chargers so we'll have to see who wins. Seems like since I'm footing the bill I should have first pick. Kids....what ya gonna do!!?? Love em.

Anyone Snoring Yet?

It's been so dead around here lately. I think it's the frigging rain. All I want to do is sleep. There was one nice day last weekend and I went out and fried myself a little. I need sunshine...it's happy medicine!
I do have a funny to share. A friend emailed me talking about how we're going to be 80 before we know it and I was trying to think how it would be trying to be sexy at 80 while carting a walker around. I said maybe I could put tassels on it. Made myself giggle a little bit!!

Had a Dry Spell

I've had a bit of a dry spell as far as blogging goes. Not much to talk about here on the home front. The weather's been crappy so it's been keeping me in but that's suppose to change tomorrow so "Watch out world! She's about to make a re-appearance!" Cameron is suppose to pick up the transmission for his car today. It's going to be nice to have him up and running again and not borrowing my keys all the time. I've actually been considering a scooter. They seem like a fun little machine and would save me a ton in fuel costs. I bet it would pay for itself in one summer. I think I'll start doing my homework and see what I can find. I can see it now, my kids will tell me how "gay" it is to have a scooter and then the minute I buy one, they will be fighting to ride it and I'll never get them off.
I made a fresh strawberry pie and a rhubarb crumb pie last night before hitting the hay. I'll take them to work with me today to feed the troops and keep their spirits soaring. My supervisor's son is graduating tomorrow and she's having a big BBQ at her house afterward so she asked if I would make her a batch of my specialty "Hot Pepper Brownies." They're a real toe curler...so I made a batch of those last night too. I wonder what the neighbors think with all these bakery smells coming from my place at night. Maybe I should take the screen out of my kitchen window, create a drive thru of sorts and get a cash box......Hmmmmm...... LOL!!

Playing Nurse Maid

I'm home today cuz Gracie was up all night yacking with her porcelain friend. I don't know what got into her but I'm pretty sure it's all out. Yuck! So I'll be playing the role of nurse maid. I wish I could remember that hot nurse's name from Emergency (a show from my child hood). That's who I am today....If I have to do it, I'm gonna do it in style and be hot darn it!

I'm being tempted

This week 3 people have told me I need to go into the catering business. One said I should come up with a business plan and send out feelers to different loan officers to see if anything may be feasible. I have the perfect location in mind but am scared as hell to even think about it. I wouldn't want to cater but I'd love to have my own bakery/sandwich/bistro/specialty kinda place. Please God send me a "Sugar Daddy." Tee Hee.......

If Ya Can't Stand the Heat

I've spent the entire weekend cooking or basking in the sun. We've had gorgeous weather for the first time in forever and it just happened to be on the weekend when I had two potlucks and a baby shower to make food for. Wish you were here Dougie....we'd have fun in the kitchen whipping up the latest tantalizing dishes!! So after the chocolate covered strawberries and triple cheese and veggie platters have all been consumed and everyone is tucked into their respectful cupboards.......I guess I'll get back to my regular 9-5 then hit it again next weekend. I have a graduation party on Saturday, another Sunday early afternoon then a dinner Sunday evening. I love this stuff..it's what makes me the happiest, playing with my food! Happy Monday all!!

Love my Anklebiters

I'm taking a test today for possible employment with USPS. Federal bennies!! Wouldn't that be better than chocolate mousse on a hot PMS day? Keep your fingers, toes, butt cheeks, and everything else crossed for me.

Meet the Neighbors

I moved a couple months ago and now that it's spring, I'm starting to meet the neighbors. Here are a few pix of them and their families. They are an amicable group....no loud parties, noisy cars or knocks on the door asking for a cup of sugar. I couldn't ask for a better flock of friends.

Planning a Vacation

I've been pondering what to do this summer with the kids. I really need to "Get out of Dodge" and go explore the world again. This is one of my favorite places I've been (The Devil's Punch Bowl) thanks to my brother and his place of residence. I've often told my children that when the day comes for me to be done here on this earth, go ahead and throw my ashes all over tarnation at this spot. My only requirement is to make darn sure I'm dead before putting me in the BBQ.

A Rant

Ever feel like someone's pooped in your Cheerios and they are laughing at your discovery of what's happened? Well I'm pulling out of one of those episodes and have just sprayed the air freshener after dumping out the tainted cereal. Life can be a kind of crap shoot but it's also a good learning tool. I'm forever being schooled. No complaints only I'm hoping that when we finally get to lay our pencils down to grade this test, I pass.

Hiking in MT

This is a pic of Princess Petunia Poopy Pants halfway up Mt. Sentinel. It was quite the grunt getting up there but what an awesome sight from where we were. Throwing snow balls in 80 degree weather.......It's definitely something that will need to be repeated.

Hello World!

So I started this thing. Don't know what I'm going to do with it but I'm sure I'll think of something. Gotta keep up with my little bro. He's become quite a pro so I've got my work cut out for me. Ok, nuff for now.
